This month, we re-signed the BEAMA 2050 Connected Climate Commitment – reaffirming our commitment to coordinated climate action alongside other industry leaders across energy, transport and the built environment.

It’s a commitment we don’t take lightly. And it’s one that reflects both where we’ve come from and where we’re heading.

Why collaboration matters

Achieving Net Zero isn’t something any single organisation can do alone. It requires alignment across entire chains, from how products are designed and manufactured, to how they’re used in homes and businesses across the UK.

The BEAMA 2050 Connected Climate Commitment provides a shared framework for that alignment. Signatories commit to reducing Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, setting science-based targets aligned to 1.5°C, embedding sustainability into governance, and integrating circular economy principles into design and procurement decisions.

But perhaps most importantly, it’s a pledge to collaborate. A commitment to sharing learnings, challenging assumptions, and supporting each other in delivering real, measurable progress.

As BEAMA CEO Yselkla Farmer puts it: “Achieving Net Zero and a circular economy is a shared responsibility. Either we succeed together, or we don’t succeed at all.”

Our role in the energy transition

We’ve been turning complex smart meter data into insights that help households and organisations understand and manage their energy use for over a decade. Chameleon Technology’s devices are in over a third of homes in Great Britain, with more than 12 million in-home displays delivered – so we’ve been able to see first-hand how better data drives better outcomes.

Whether it’s helping people identify energy waste, shift usage to different times of day, or understanding the impacts of home retrofits, the work we do sits at the heart of the energy transition. Because decarbonisation isn’t just about putting infrastructure in place; it’s about empowering people to make informed choices, and helping them understand how this journey to Net Zero is unfolding.

“Chameleon Technology is proud to stand alongside BEAMA in committing to a Net Zero energy system by 2050. Supporting this pledge reflects our core values of innovation and collaboration. As a leader in smart energy technology, we recognise that achieving these climate goals requires both industry-wide consensus and accurate, actionable data.”

Committing to a future, together

Over the coming months and years, we’ll be working alongside other signatories to strengthen value chain alignment, reduce emissions across our operations and supply chains, and continue developing the tools that make electrification and decarbonisation accessible to all.

The road to Net Zero is a long one, but with coordinated effort and a shared sense of purpose, it’s absolutely achievable.
