Gateway Connect activation
Gateway Connect and the ivie app
Yes, you need the ivie app in order to activate your Gateway Connect. The ivie app enables you to seamlessly verify your address and connect your Gateway to your smart meter. Plus, the ivie app enables you to see your live energy, humidity and temperature data in the palm of your hand and more! The ivie app is a powerful tool, here to help you understand your energy usage and provide you with personalised energy saving-tips on how to save and more. You can find out more about the ivie app here.
At the moment, you can only link one live technology device to the ivie app. The team is working hard to enable multiple device linking and we will notify you through our newsletters once the feature is available.
Unfortunately, if you already have an ivie Bud linked to the ivie app, you can currently not link a Gateway device as well. This is something that the team is working hard to improve with upcoming releases of the ivie app.
This process is fairly instant but sometimes it can take up to 24 hours for your live data to appear in the ivie app. If you can’t see your data after 24 hours, please contact our Customer Care team here.
Energy Clamp installation
The Energy Clamp is simple and easy to install without the need for an engineer visit. Simply follow the steps in our Installation guide here.
The Energy Clamp is a Zigbee 3.0 sensor that can be integrated with Zigbee 3.0 hubs, such as Home Assistant, allowing you to see your real-time data.
Once you have completed the installation of your clamp and the LED has stopped flashing, your real-time data will start appearing in your preferred Zigbee 3.0 hub. This should only take a few seconds.
If the pairing between Home Assistant and your new clamp fails, don’t worry. You can reset your clamp and try again. Simply use a little pin (one that you would use to access your SIM card on your smart phone) or a needle and press the button next to the LED light. Hold it pressed for 10 seconds.
