The Gateway Connect is a handy screen less device that connects to your smart meters to provide you with real-time energy consumption data. In addition, the Gateway comes with in-built temperature and humidity sensors to help you understand your home environmental data too. With built-in 4G, the Gateway Connect offers up to 99% UK coverage that connects to 4 different networks, allowing you to get unparalleled live insights without having to dig through reams of home data yourself.
Our most versatile Gateway device gives businesses and households a clear look at the health and quality of a property, and highlights where changes should be made. The three LEDs on the Gateway Connect are there to indicate the status of your Gateway Connections, including: power on/off, 4G connection and smart meter connection. Please refer to the user guide here for more detail.
We always build our product with the future in mind. Although currently you cannot use this port, in the future the port may be used for adding other environmental sensors, such as CO2 or other.
We’d recommend placing the device in a room that’s a good representation of the temperature of your home – so ideally not on top of a radiator, or on a windowsill, which might affect the temperature readings. In addition, if you are experiencing difficulty connecting your Gateway Connect to your smart meters, we recommend moving it closer to your electricity meter to establish a stable connection.
Yes, if you want to measure the temperature and humidity of another room in your home, you can move your Gateway to that room. Please note that placing your Gateway too far from your meters, it may impact your smart meter connection. If you are experiencing difficulty connecting your Gateway Connect to your smart meters, we recommend moving it closer to your electricity meter to establish a stable connection.
Gateway Connect – moving home and changing energy suppliers
No, the Gateway Connect is a device independent from your energy supplier. Changing suppliers should not have any impact on the way your Gateway operates, as long as the switch doesn’t impact your smart meter’s functionality. In case of any issues with your smart meter data after a supplier switch, please contact your new energy supplier to ensure that your smart metres are operating as they should.
Yes, the Gateway Connect is a device independent from your energy supplier. Therefore, you can disconnect it from your current property’s smart meters and take it with you to reinstall at your new home. Tip: Please make sure to check that your new property has compatible smart meters using our simple compatibility checker here.
