Utility Warehouse in partnership with Chameleon Technology

Chameleon Technology continues to grow its customer base among UK utilities with the announcement that Utility Warehouse has chosen Chameleon to supply its smart In-Home Displays (IHDs).

Utility Warehouse has chosen Chameleon as the sole supplier of SMETS 2 in-home displays. Utility Warehouse will deliver Chameleon’s third generation device to hundreds of thousands of the utility’s customers throughout the remainder of the smart meter rollout to 2020. Chameleon’s IHD3 device has in-built pre-payment features to help make pre-payment meter credit balances clear and simple to understand.

Chameleon has been supplying smart IHDs to UK utilities for over seven years and is known for its award-winning, inclusive and engaging designs and for delivering technically robust and innovative solutions. Chameleon’s pre-payment Smart In-Home Display allows users to enjoy all the benefits of a smart-enabled IHD, such as seeing and understanding when and how energy is used in the home, so they can keep track of what they are spending, in pounds and pence. It also includes extra smart pre-pay features. The IHD3 PPMID allows users to see their remaining credit in pounds and pence and, uniquely, in time. Users don’t have to guess how long their credit will last and they know when they need to top up. Customers receive an alert when credit is low and can add credit directly to their pre-payment meter from their IHD, using their top-up receipt.
