We are looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to play a vital role in improving and maintaining the financial standing of the company. The AFM’s role will be one of the official points of contact for all financial matters on a daily basis within the organisation.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the key responsibilities of the Assistant Finance Manager include:
- ensuring the company has adequate financial procedures in place so that accurate financial information is available on a timely basis
- liaising with external stakeholders including auditors, HMRC, banks and finance houses as appropriate
- supporting the FC in managing daily cash balances to ensure that cash flows are adequate to allow the business to operate effectively
- maintaining the accounting system on a day to day basis
- overseeing payroll and VAT returns
- preparing monthly financial reports for the FC in line with the agreed timetables.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant or actively working towards a professional qualification and have at least eight years experience working within a finance department. They will have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with standard accounting software packages including SAGE. They will have strong verbal and written communications skills, be detail-oriented and organised and have strong planning and prioritisation abilities.
This newly created role is full time and will be based in our new head office in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Chameleon is able to offer the right candidate a competitive remuneration package. As this is a month-end reporting role, some flexibility in working patterns may be required, to meet the needs of the business and its senior executives.
